LVFD Alerted For Propane Tank Fire

At approximately 10:40pm on Friday, March 13th, LVFD dispatch toned out the members for a reported propane tank fire at 247 Lattingtown Rd. Asst. Chief Baker was on the road first and received additional information that it could be possibly two 20 lb. BBQ propane tanks on fire against the house. Read more

Close Call in Lattingtown

In the early morning hours of Friday, March 20th at approximately 5:35am the Locust Valley Fire Department was toned out for an Automatic Alarm at 34 Peacock Lane in Lattingtown. First arriving unit, E-544 under the command of Captain Kevin Barry, found a heavy smoke condition coming from the chimney in the rear of the home. Read more

Brush Fire at Stehli's Beach

As extremely dry and windy conditions overtook Long Island for the last few days, the National Weather Service issued a warning for the high possibility of brush fires. At approximately 5:06pm the Locust Valley Fire Department was toned out for a brush fire down at Stehli's Beach on the border of Locust Valley and Bayville. Chief's 5402 (Scaperotta) and 5403 (Nolan) were first due to the scene and confirmed a brush fire in the marsh just south of the beach. Read more

Shaving They're Heads for St. Baldrick's Day

Following the St. Patrick's Day parade in Glen Cove, the Downtown Cafe held the St. Baldrick's fundraiser for Childrens Cancer Research. Participants must raise money for the cause and shave their heads at the event. Read more

LVFD Marches in Annual Glen Cove St. Patrick's Day Parade

The members of the Locust Valley Fire Department recently marched in the Glen Cove St. Patrick's Day Parade accompanied by the Long Beach Marching Band. Locust Valley was led by Chief Patrick Vissichelli along with his three Assistant Chief's Jeffrey Baker, Dom Scaperotta, and Brian Nolan. The department had a strong showing of about 25 members. Firefighter Zack Baker was this year's department lepreuchan taking over the role from Lt. Steve Kelly. The parade was a success and we look foward to next year's St. Patrick's Day Parade!
