LVFD Softball Wins Eight Straight

Good Stop at Signal 10 on Bayville Road
Submitted by FF Z. Baker on July 27, 2009 - 12:34At approximately 6:24am on Monday, July 27th, the Locust Valley Fire Department was toned out for a Possible Fire in the Wall at 255 Bayville Road. Nassau County PD confirmed a smoke condition coming from the residence. Chief Scaperotta (5401)was first due and also confirmed smoke coming from the residence upon arrival. Chief Nolan (5402) arrived on scene next. Engine 544, under command of Lt. Steve Kelly, arrived on scene as 5402 requested a 2nd alarm for a working fire. 5401 requested a mutual aid engine from Bayville Fire Company and the F.A.S.T. team from Glen Cove Fire Department. Rescue Call - Forcible Entry Required

Baker on July 22, 2009 - 21:15On July 21st at approximately 9:00am, the members of the Locust Valley Fire Department were toned out for a Rescue Call at the residence of 120 Piping Rock Road. The dispatcher also notified all LVFD units that forcible entry was required. Assistant Chief's Scaperotta (5401) and Nolan (5402) responded along with Engine 544. The call came from the homeowner stating that there were two thirteen (13) month old twins locked in a bedroom for more than an hour, and the babysitter couldn't get them out. Chief Nolan was able to force entry into the bedroom and retrieve the young toddlers. Read more
Overturned Auto on Cleft Road

Baker on July 22, 2009 - 21:10On the morning of July 21st at approximately 7:23am, the Locust Valley Fire Department was toned out for a Motor Vehicle Accident with a report of an overturned vehicle at the intersection of Bayville Road and Factory Pong Road. Assistant Chief's Scaperotta (5401), Nolan (5402), and Greenfield (5403) all responded as well as Ambulance 541 and Rescue 542. When the units came upon the intersection, they could not locate the accident scene. Chief Scaperotta drove around the neighborhood and found the accident to be on Cleft Road just east of Frost Mill Road. Read more
Mutual Aid F.A.S.T. Team Responds to Glenwood Working Fire

Baker on July 15, 2009 - 16:32In the early morning hours of Wednesday July 15th, the Glenwood Fire Company was toned out for an Odor of Smoke in the house at 5 Hamilton Court, off of High Farms Rd. in Glen Head. Upon arrival, Chief 5301 reported a working fire. At 4:46am the Locust Valley Fire Department was toned out for the request of a F.A.S.T. team to the fire on Hamilton Ct. Assistant Chief Nolan (5402), responded along with TL-546 under command of Capt. Akapnitis. Read more
