LVFD Responds as F.A.S.T. Team to Glen Cove Signal 10

On November 22nd around 2:25pm, Glen Cove Fire Dispatch signed on the air with a general alarm report of a smoke coming from the building at 11 Westland Drive. The first unit to arrive on Morgan Island was 5201 who transmitted a Signal 10 before he reached the residence due to the large column of black smoke rising into the air. Assistant Chief Tripp arrived on scene and noticed one section of the house was fully engulfed in flames. Read more

LVFD Participates in Hope For Warriors Run

On Sunday, November 8th members of the LVFD awoke early and traveled out to Babylon to participate in the Hope For Warriors Run (H4W). There was a 10k, 5k, and 1 mile run/walk to raise money and awareness for the H4W organization. A few more adventurous members undertook the 1 mile run in full turnout gear, which equates to carrying close to an additional 50 lbs of weight. Read more

LVFD Continues Fire Prevention Work

On Wednesday, November 4th as election results were being tallied, the Locust Valley Fire Department concluded its Fire Prevention duties by visiting the Locust Valley Church and Mill Neck Manor schools. Lieutenant Greg Smith, Ex-Captain Jim Neumeyer and Firefighter Matt Stimola brought Tower Ladder 546 to both schools to educate the children on fire safety and even gave them a bit of homework.
