LVFD Assists Glen Cove at Konica Fire

The LVFD was called out to assist the Glen Cove Fire Department on Monday evening as they battled a blaze at the Konica Minolta building on Charles Street. LVFD Engine 544 was requested to standby at Glen Cove Fire Headquarters to assist with any additional alarms. The GCFD was also assisted by the Sea Cliff and Glenwood Fire Departments, along with Glen Cove EMS and Jericho Fire Department EMS. Engine 544 stood by for about 2 hours before returning to service in Locust Valley.

LVFD Mourns Passing of Ex-Chief Americo "Red" DeCarolis

DeCAROLIS - Americo "Red", of Locust Valley, LI on December 19th, 2011 Age 85. Ex-Chief of the Locust Valley Fire Department and former Commissioner. Member of American Legion Post 76. Beloved husband of Mary. Loving father of Ronnie Feeg (Alan). Dear brother of Julie Knight and Frank Jr. Proud grandfather of Kelly Feeg. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas Glen Cove Wednesday 7-9 pm; Thursday 3-5 & 7-9 pm. Firematic Services are Friday at 8pm. Mass at St. Gertrude RC Church Friday 10 am. Santa Visits Locust Valley via Fire Truck

On Sunday, December 18th, Santa made his annual visit to the Locust Valley Fire Department. With lights and sirens blaring, Santa was escorted by Tower Ladder 546 through the streets of our community. He also brought along some elves who threw popcorn balls to kids and adults alike, as they made their way through town.
