Serious Auto Accident on Skunks Misery Rd.

The members of the LVFD were toned out for a motor vehicle accident at approximately 11:27pm on Monday, June 15th. The accident occurred on Skunks Misery Rd. about 600ft east of Woods Ln. The driver of the car, heading westbound, lost control of his car and left the road on the right side about 400ft from where his car came to rest on the left side of the road after flipping four (4) times. The car came to a rest right side up and also took out a portion of fence along the road. Chief Baker (5400)was first due to the scene followed closely by Chiefs Nolan (5402) and Greenfield (5403). Rescue 542, under the command of Captain Andrew Akapnitis, was the first truck on scene followed by ambulance 541. The driver was the only one in the car and was walking around by the time units were on scene. He was taken to North Shore Hospital at Manhasset by ambulance 541 as a precaution due to the seriousness of the accident. All LVFD units were back in service by 12:55am.
