Mutual Aid F.A.S.T. Team Responds to Glenwood Working Fire

In the early morning hours of Wednesday July 15th, the Glenwood Fire Company was toned out for an Odor of Smoke in the house at 5 Hamilton Court, off of High Farms Rd. in Glen Head. Upon arrival, Chief 5301 reported a working fire. At 4:46am the Locust Valley Fire Department was toned out for the request of a F.A.S.T. team to the fire on Hamilton Ct. Assistant Chief Nolan (5402), responded along with TL-546 under command of Capt. Akapnitis. On arrival, TL-546's crew did a walk around of the house and found that the fire had already been contained in the garage and the rooms above by a good stop by the Glenwood Fire Company. The house was a 2 1/2 story dwelling with a three car garage with rooms above it. The fire seemed to have started by an electrical problem in the garage and spread into the rooms above. At approximately 5:20am all mutual aid units, including one engine from Glen Cove Fire Department and one ladder from Sea Cliff Fire Department , were put on a signal 13. All LVFD units were back in service at headquarters by 5:45pm.
