LVFD Participates in Hope For Warriors Run
On Sunday, November 8th members of the LVFD awoke early and traveled out to Babylon to participate in the Hope For Warriors Run (H4W). There was a 10k, 5k, and 1 mile run/walk to raise money and awareness for the H4W organization. A few more adventurous members undertook the 1 mile run in full turnout gear, which equates to carrying close to an additional 50 lbs of weight.
These members should be commended for being the only fire department on Long Island to compete as a group and in turnout gear:

A few special notes:
1) Andrew Bittner finished in 1st place in his age group and 43rd overall in the 5k race. Congratulations Andrew!!!
2) Cindy Long finished in 2nd place in the women's division for her age group and 105 overall in the 5k race. Congratulations Cindy!!!
3) Tanya Long finished 12th in her age group and 167th overall in the 5k race. Way to go Tanya!!!
