Chief Officers

Dominick Scaperotta – Chief of Department
Chief Dominick Scaperotta joined the department on February 8, 1988 and was assigned to Hose Company No. 1. As a member of the Hose Company, Assistant Chief Scaperotta held the positions of Treasurer, 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, and Captain. In May of 1995, he transferred to Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 where he served as 1st Lieutenant from 2001 – 2002 and Assistant Engineer from 2004 – 2005. In April of 2005, Dominick was elected to the position of 3rd Assistant Chief. Subsequently he proceeded up the ranks to the positions of 2nd Assistant Chief and 1st Assistant Chief. In April of 2011, Dominick became the 53rd Chief of the Locust Valley Fire Department Dom also has served as Treasurer of the Department from 1993 – 1994 and is a certified New York State Emergency Medical Technician-Basic. Dom was named 2004 – 2005 Fireman of the Year.

Brian Nolan – 1st Assistant Chief
Assistant Chief Brian Nolan joined our department on November 6, 1996 and was assigned to Engine Company 2. As a young member, Brian immediately became certified as a NYS Emergency Medical Technician-Basic before going on to become an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. In April 2001, he was elected as 2nd Lieutenant of Engine 2. From April 2002- April 2004 he held the position of 1st Lieutenant. From April 2004- April 2007 Brian was elected to the position of Captain of Engine 2. Brian also held the position of Department Secretary from April 2002- April 2007. In 2000, he was selected to be a dual member of the Emergency Medical Rescue Company. Brian is the recipient of the 2000-2001 Jack Turner Fireman of the Year Award. In April 2007, he was elected and sworn in as the departments Third Assistant Chief. He has moved through the ranks to 2nd Assistant Chief and currently serves as the Department’s 1st Assistant Chief.

Peter Greefield – 2nd Assistant Chief
Assistant Chief Peter Greenfield joined the Locust Valley Fire Department on February 12, 1992 and was assigned to Hook & Ladder Co. 1. Soon after, he became certified as a NYS Emergency Medical Technician-Basic. In April 2000, he was elected to the 2nd Lieutenant position of Hook & Ladder Co. 1, a position he held until April of 2002. In April 2002 Peter was elected Captain of Hook & Ladder Co. 1, a position which he held until April of 2004. Peter then went on to be elected and serve as Department Secretary from April 2007- April 2009. In April 2009, he was elected and sworn in as the departments Third Assistant Chief. He currently serves as 2nd Assistant Chief.

Kevin Barry – 3rd Assistant Chief
Assistant Chief Kevin Barry joined the department on May 14, 2001 and was assigned to Hose Company No. 1. Since April of 2005, Kevin has served as 1st Lieutenant (2005-2007), Captain (2007-2009) and 3rd Assistant Engineer (2009-2011) of the Hose Company. In April of 2009 Kevin was elected to the position of Department Secretary and held that position through March of 2011. On May 16th, 2010, Kevin was awarded the 2009-2010 Jack Turner Fireman of the Year Award. In April of 2011, Kevin was elected to the position of 3rd Assistant Chief. Chief Barry holds several firematic and rescue training certifications and is a licensed New York State Professional Engineer.
