LVFD Responds to Serious Auto Accident

On Thursday December 13 at approximately 12:30 pm a serious auto accident involving two vehicles were reported on Bayville Road and Meleny Road. LVFD Firefighter Thomas Winslow, traveling behind one of the automobiles involved, was first on scene. Tom quickly assessed the two drivers involved and discovered one driver, a 17 year old student, unconscious and was not breathing. He immediately provided in-line stabilization of her neck and spine which improved her airway. He was assisted by firefighter John Dembowski as she was transported to NUMC by Nassau County Police Ambulance. Locust Valley Ambulance 541 transported the second patient to North shore Glen Cove.
